With regard to the rights, benefits, protections, and responsibilities of persons set forth under this chapter, all gender-specific terminology, such as \"wife\", \"husband\", \"mother\", \"father\", \"aunt\", \"uncle\", \"niece\", \"nephew\", or similar terms, shall be construed in a gender-neutral manner.
