Stat. § 583A-305","heading":"Registration of child-custody determination.","body":"(a) A child-custody determination issued by a court of another state may be registered in this State, with or without a simultaneous request for enforcement, by sending to the appropriate court in this State:\n\n(1) A letter or other document requesting registration;\n\n(2) Two copies, including one certified copy, of the determination sought to be registered, and a statement under penalty of perjury that to the best of the knowledge and belief of the person seeking registration the order has not been modified; and\n\n(3) Except as otherwise provided in section 583A-209, the name and address of the person seeking registration and any parent or person acting as a parent who has been awarded custody or visitation in the child-custody determination sought to be registered.\n\n(b) On receipt of the documents required by subsection (a), the registering court shall cause the determination to be filed as a foreign judgment, together with one copy of any accompanying documents and information, regardless of their form.","path":["HI Code","Division 3","Title 31","Chapter 583A"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol12_Ch0501-0588/HRS0583A/HRS_0583A-0305.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"18a813c6f3179d78da6c2899f2f677e7002f1883e67106b108e8f3a8c89a6969","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-583a-304","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-583a-306"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
