Stat. § 658A-20","heading":"Change of award by arbitrator.","body":"(a) On motion to an arbitrator by a party to an arbitration proceeding, the arbitrator may modify or correct an award:\n\n(1) Upon a ground stated in section 658A-24(a)(1) or (3);\n\n(2) Because the arbitrator has not made a final and definite award upon a claim submitted by the parties to the arbitration proceeding; or\n\n(3) To clarify the award.\n\n(b) A motion under subsection (a) shall be made and notice given to all parties within twenty days after the movant receives notice of the award.\n\n(c) A party to the arbitration proceeding shall give notice of any objection to the motion within ten days after receipt of the notice in subsection (b).\n\n(d) If a motion to the court is pending under section 658A-22, 658A-23, or 658A-24, the court may submit the claim to the arbitrator to consider whether to modify or correct the award:\n\n(1) Upon a ground stated in section 658A-24(a)(1) or (3);\n\n(2) Because the arbitrator has not made a final and definite award upon a claim submitted by the parties to the arbitration proceeding; or\n\n(3) To clarify the award.\n\n(e) An award modified or corrected pursuant to this section is subject to sections 658A-19(a), 658A-22, 658A-23, and 658A-24.","path":["HI Code","Division 4","Title 36","Chapter 658A"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol13_Ch0601-0676/HRS0658A/HRS_0658A-0020.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"60662860a97aa0efb21000be51d14a1f68919624944ec07f0247840bc6e10da1","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-658a-2","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-658a-21"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
