Stat. § 710-1023","heading":"Promoting prison contraband in the second degree.","body":"(1) A person commits the offense of promoting prison contraband in the second degree if:\n\n(a) The person intentionally conveys known contraband to any person confined in a correctional or detention facility; or\n\n(b) Being a person confined in a correctional or detention facility, the person intentionally makes, obtains, or possesses known contraband.\n\n(2) \"Contraband\" means any article or thing, other than a dangerous instrument or drug as defined in section 710-1022(2), that a person confined in a correctional or detention facility is prohibited from obtaining or possessing by statute, rule, or order.\n\n(3) Promoting prison contraband in the second degree is a class C felony.","path":["HI Code","Division 5","Title 37","Chapter 710"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol14_Ch0701-0853/HRS0710/HRS_0710-1023.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"1450746d5fb8295c897e4ee0268a6ee1b9d6c4d7da6901f06b589347dc3c21c8","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-710-1022","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-710-1024"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
