Stat. § 712-1241","heading":"Promoting a dangerous drug in the first degree.","body":"(1) A person commits the offense of promoting a dangerous drug in the first degree if the person knowingly:\n\n(a) Possesses one or more preparations, compounds, mixtures, or substances of an aggregate weight of:\n\n(i) One ounce or more, containing methamphetamine, heroin, morphine, fentanyl, or cocaine or any of their respective salts, isomers, and salts of isomers; or\n\n(ii) One and one-half ounce or more, containing one or more of any of the other dangerous drugs;\n\n(b) Distributes:\n\n(i) Twenty-five or more capsules, tablets, ampules, dosage units, or syrettes containing one or more dangerous drugs; or\n\n(ii) One or more preparations, compounds, mixtures, or substances of an aggregate weight of:\n\n(A) One-eighth ounce or more, containing methamphetamine, heroin, morphine, fentanyl, or cocaine or any of their respective salts, isomers, and salts of isomers; or\n\n(B) Three-eighths ounce or more, containing any other dangerous drug;\n\n(c) Distributes any dangerous drug in any amount to a minor except for methamphetamine; or\n\n(d) Manufactures a dangerous drug in any amount, except for methamphetamine; provided that this subsection shall not apply to any person registered under section 329-32.\n\n(2) Promoting a dangerous drug in the first degree is a class A felony.","path":["HI Code","Division 5","Title 37","Chapter 712"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol14_Ch0701-0853/HRS0712/HRS_0712-1241.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"663d765383307df25afb97b0e60e499565c5331497fab4c1434d8d01282db431","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-712-1240.9","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-712-1242"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
