Stat. § 88-335","heading":"Ordinary disability retirement allowance.","body":"(a) Upon retirement for ordinary disability, a class H member who became a member before July 1, 2012, shall receive a maximum retirement allowance equal to the higher of either:\n\n(1) Two per cent of the average final compensation multiplied by the number of years of class H credited service unreduced for age, plus one and one-fourth per cent of the member's average final compensation multiplied by the number of years of class C credited service unreduced for age; or\n\n(2) Twenty-five per cent of the member's average final compensation.\n\n(b) Upon retirement for ordinary disability, a class H member who becomes a member after June 30, 2012, shall receive a maximum retirement allowance equal to the higher of either:\n\n(1) One and three-fourths per cent of the average final compensation multiplied by the number of years of class H credited service unreduced for age, plus one and one-fourth per cent of the member's average final compensation multiplied by the number of years of class C credited service unreduced for age; or\n\n(2) Twenty-five per cent of the member's average final compensation.","path":["HI Code","Division 1","Title 7","Chapter 88"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol02_Ch0046-0115/HRS0088/HRS_0088-0335.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"1157b99c3d2dd20ec908418f26e918a20bc4d891a76fa8eea617d28de554e621","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-88-334","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-88-336"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
