{"data":{"id":"us-ia/iowa-code-144.39","jurisdiction":"us-ia","citation":"Iowa Code § 144.39","heading":"Change of name.","body":"Upon receipt of a certified copy of a court order from a court of competent jurisdiction or certificate of the clerk of court pursuant to chapter 674 changing the name of a person born in this state, the state registrar shall amend the certificate of birth to reflect the new name. A fee established by the department by rule based on average administrative cost shall be collected to amend the certificate of birth to reflect a new name.
