Administer oaths and take affirmations on matters relating to the business of the office of auditor.\n2. Subject to requirements of section 331.903, appoint and remove deputies, clerks and assistants. If a deputy auditor is not appointed and the requirements of office require the temporary employment of assistants, the auditor shall file a bill for the services with the board at its next meeting.
