{"data":{"id":"us-ia/iowa-code-602.1210","jurisdiction":"us-ia","citation":"Iowa Code § 602.1210","heading":"Selection of chief judges.","body":"Not later than December 15 in each odd-numbered year the chief justice shall appoint chief judges of the judicial districts, subject to the approval of the supreme court. The chief judge of a judicial district shall be appointed from those district judges who are serving within the district. A chief judge shall serve for a two-year term and is eligible for reappointment. The supreme court, by majority vote, may remove a person from the position of chief judge. Vacancies in the office of chief judge shall be filled in the same manner.
