A person commits wanton neglect of a resident of a health care facility when the person knowingly acts in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical or mental welfare of a resident of a health care facility as defined in section 135C.1.\n2. A person who commits wanton neglect resulting in serious injury to a resident of a health care facility is guilty of a class “C” felony.\n3.
