{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-16-2412","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 16-2412","heading":"Emergency treatment upon certification by designated examiner.","body":"A child may be taken into protective custody by a peace officer, or accepted by an ambulance service, and transported and presented to a treatment facility for emergency evaluation and treatment when a designated examiner certifies in writing that he has examined the child within the last seventy-two (72) hours and that on such basis he has probable cause to believe that such child is suffering from serious emotional disturbance as a result of which he is likely to:\n(1) Harm himself or others; or\n(2) Suffer substantial mental or physical deterioration; and\n(3) Require immediate treatment to prevent such harm; and\n(4) Less restrictive alternatives have been considered and the detention and treatment proposed is consistent with the least restrictive alternative principle.","path":["TITLE 16 JUVENILE PROCEEDINGS","CHAPTER 24 CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title16/t16ch24/sect16-2412/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T11:16:50Z","sha256":"7651a5b1a21b78cdc3fbfb1e1f14a7385d9556b17f398b3344d659067eac803e","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-16-2411","next":"us-id/idaho-code-16-2413"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
