{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-19-2902","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 19-2902","heading":"sTATEMENT OF policy.","body":"(1) The legislature finds and declares that:\n(a) Bail, in criminal cases, is a constitutional right subject to certain limitations;\n(b) It is necessary to establish a statewide process to uniformly implement this right and the limitations.\n(2) The purpose of this chapter is to provide a uniform and comprehensive statewide process for the administration of bail in criminal cases in order to:\n(a) Ensure the appearance of defendants before the courts;\n(b) Protect the right of defendants to bail, as constitutionally provided; and\n(c) Ensure the protection and safety of victims, witnesses and the public.","path":["TITLE 19 CRIMINAL PROCEDURE","CHAPTER 29 IDAHO BAIL ACT"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title19/t19ch29/sect19-2902/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T11:17:17Z","sha256":"0b13b429d46ed1fd0c381656d4f2663c629579740355d641c7368a9953e9298a","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-19-2901","next":"us-id/idaho-code-19-2903"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
