{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-25-2504","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 25-2504","heading":"Powers and duties.","body":"The board shall have the following powers and duties:\n(1) To conduct scientific research for the benefit of the health of the horse;\n(2) To enter into contracts which it deems appropriate in carrying out the promotion of the horse industry of this state;\n(3) To sue and be sued as a board, without individual liability of the board members, when the board is acting within the scope of the powers of the board;\n(4) To make grants, donations, or contributions to any agency which will promote the horse industry of this state on a national, state or local level;\n(5) To employ subordinate officers and employees of the board, prescribe their duties and fix their compensation;\n(6) To accept grants, donations, contributions or gifts, from any source for expenditures for any purpose consistent with the provisions of this chapter;\n(7) To prepare each year a proposed budget of the board for the next succeeding fiscal year, and to provide upon request a copy of the proposed budget to any person who pays an assessment under this chapter;\n(8) To adopt, rescind, modify or amend all proper functional regulations, orders, and resolutions for the exercise of its powers and duties, which shall be provided to anyone upon request; and\n(9) To conduct public relations programs for the horse industry.","path":["TITLE 25 ANIMALS","CHAPTER 25 IDAHO HORSE BOARD"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title25/t25ch25/sect25-2504/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T11:17:55Z","sha256":"5b82105655ca86f6a3333eec6ae1382a716a9fb3f67439054c433931506cb1cb","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-25-2503","next":"us-id/idaho-code-25-2505"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
