{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-32-11-202","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 32-11-202","heading":"Exclusive, continuing jurisdiction.","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in section 32-11-204, Idaho Code, a court of this state which has made a child custody determination consistent with section 32-11-201 or 32-11-203, Idaho Code, has exclusive, continuing jurisdiction over the determination until:\n(1) A court of this state determines that neither the child, nor the child and one (1) parent, nor the child and a person acting as a parent have a significant connection with this state and that substantial evidence is no longer available in this state concerning the child’s care, protection, training and personal relationships; or\n(2) A court of this state or a court of another state determines that the child, the child’s parents, and any person acting as a parent do not presently reside in this state.\n(b) A court of this state which has made a child custody determination and does not have exclusive, continuing jurisdiction under this section may modify that determination only if it has jurisdiction to make an initial determination under section 32-11-201, Idaho Code.","path":["TITLE 32 DOMESTIC RELATIONS","CHAPTER 11 UNIFORM CHILD CUSTODY JURISDICTION AND ENFORCEMENT ACT","PART 2 JURISDICTION"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title32/t32ch11/sect32-11-202/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T11:19:11Z","sha256":"0b27a833b4dd9214e895695f99246bdb37bd37a0f3322320f901878555d24e36","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-32-11-201","next":"us-id/idaho-code-32-11-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
