{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-39-1211c","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 39-1211C","heading":"FOSTER PARENT TRAINING.","body":"\n(1)(a) Prior to licensure pursuant to this chapter, each applicant, unless exempted, shall complete the following:\n(i) Training on knowledge and skills relating to the reasonable and prudent parent standard as set forth in chapter 16, title 16, Idaho Code;\n(ii) Orientation to foster care programs;\n(iii) Training on understanding the impact of trauma on children;\n(iv) Training on behavior management;\n(v) Training on working with birth parents;\n(vi) Training on court processes; and\n(vii) Training on the physical safety of children in foster care.\n(b) The required training described in this subsection shall not exceed ten (10) hours total, and each training shall include a check on learning to ensure understanding.\n(2) The department shall make training available on an ongoing basis to all foster parents on the following topics: rights, roles, and responsibilities of foster parents; laws and regulations; the impact of childhood trauma; managing child behaviors; first aid and medication administration; gun safety in foster homes; and the importance of maintaining meaningful connections between the child and parents, including regular visitation.","path":["TITLE 39 HEALTH AND SAFETY","CHAPTER 12 CHILD CARE LICENSING REFORM ACT"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title39/t39ch12/sect39-1211c/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T13:49:04Z","sha256":"8f8a455eece1748b611abaa571dc1d6a8f31e778b51dda197b040a4d0cec2f31","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-39-1211b","next":"us-id/idaho-code-39-1212"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
