{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-41-5804","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 41-5804","heading":"Exceptions to licensing.","body":"Notwithstanding section 41-5803, Idaho Code, a license as a public adjuster shall not be required of the following:\n(1) An attorney admitted to practice in this state, when acting in his or her professional capacity as an attorney;\n(2) A producer licensed in Idaho who acts only on behalf of his or her own insured and does not hold himself or herself out to the public as a public adjuster;\n(3) A person who negotiates or settles claims arising under a life or health insurance policy or an annuity contract;\n(4) A person employed only for the purpose of obtaining facts surrounding a loss or furnishing technical assistance to a licensed public adjuster including, but not limited to, photographers, estimators, private investigators, engineers and handwriting experts;\n(5) A licensed health care provider, or employee of a licensed health care provider, who prepares or files a health claim form on behalf of a patient; or\n(6) A person who settles subrogation claims between insurers.","path":["TITLE 41 INSURANCE","CHAPTER 58 PUBLIC ADJUSTER LICENSING ACT"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title41/t41ch58/sect41-5804/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T11:21:02Z","sha256":"b6b696aa50e7874d5cd5746623c28816a4f5651265aa48eb102ab67090fe6922","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-41-5803","next":"us-id/idaho-code-41-5805"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
