{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-41-6501","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 41-6501","heading":"\"ROUTINE PATIENT CARE costs\" defined.","body":"\"Routine patient care costs\" means the costs of any medically necessary health care service for which benefits are provided under a health benefit plan, without regard to whether the enrollee is participating in a clinical trial. Routine patient care costs do not include the cost:\n(1) Of an investigational new drug or device that is not approved for any indication by the United States food and drug administration;\n(2) Of a service that is not a health care service, regardless of whether the service is required in connection with participation in a clinical trial;\n(3) Of a service that is inconsistent with widely accepted and established standards of care for a particular diagnosis;\n(4) Associated with managing a clinical trial; or\n(5) Of a health care service that is specifically excluded from coverage under a health benefit plan.","path":["TITLE 41 INSURANCE","CHAPTER 65 COVERAGE FOR PARTICIPANTS IN CLINICAL TRIALS"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title41/t41ch65/sect41-6501/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T12:32:39Z","sha256":"aba0834dc9c3e653f87f0ebfb93d9dbcf89be334c8012293fd62dbbd3811bb88","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-41-6406","next":"us-id/idaho-code-41-6502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
