{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-49-1636","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 49-1636","heading":"Consignment sales.","body":"(1) An owner who consigns a vehicle to a vehicle dealer to be offered for sale or exchange on behalf of the owner to a third party purchaser, shall provide the dealer with either the certificate of title to the vehicle along with a power of attorney designating the dealer as an agent of the owner, or a duly executed consignment agreement between the dealer and the owner, along with a copy of the certificate of title of the vehicle being consigned.\n(2) A consignment agreement shall contain at the least, the following:\n(a) The name and current address of the owner of the vehicle as shown on the certificate of title;\n(b) The name and current address of any person holding a lien on the vehicle;\n(c) The name of the consignee;\n(d) A description of the vehicle including the vehicle’s make, model, vehicle identification number and odometer reading; and\n(e) A statement that the owner has appointed the vehicle dealer as his agent for the purpose of offering the vehicle for sale.","path":["TITLE 49 MOTOR VEHICLES","CHAPTER 16 DEALERS AND SALESMEN LICENSING"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title49/t49ch16/sect49-1636/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T11:22:29Z","sha256":"ac4115a1a745e7eae6bce7336b9ecc445f62f59237fb8c3dc55de7e0ffd0f79d","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-49-1634","next":"us-id/idaho-code-49-1637"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
