{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-49-2431","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 49-2431","heading":"Ridesharing exempt from motor carrier laws.","body":"The following laws and regulations shall not apply to any ridesharing arrangement using a motor vehicle with a seating capacity for not more than fifteen (15) persons, including the driver:\n(1) Title 49, Idaho Code, pertaining to the regulation of motor carriers of any kind or description;\n(2) Laws and regulations containing insurance requirements that are specifically applicable to motor carriers or commercial vehicles;\n(3) Laws imposing a greater standard of care on motor carriers or commercial vehicles than that imposed on other drivers or owners of motor vehicles;\n(4) Laws and regulations with equipment requirements and special accident reporting requirements that are specifically applicable to motor carriers or commercial vehicles; and\n(5) Laws imposing a tax on fuel purchased in another state by a motor carrier or highway use fees on commercial buses.","path":["TITLE 49 MOTOR VEHICLES","CHAPTER 24 MISCELLANEOUS"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title49/t49ch24/sect49-2431/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T11:22:31Z","sha256":"548f93f93548161382d28576dae9112b62683d710cb3900c9258f477129331cb","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-49-2427","next":"us-id/idaho-code-49-2432"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
