{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-49-2443","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 49-2443","heading":"Application.","body":"Application for an identification card must be made in person before an authorized agent of the department. The authorized agent shall obtain the following from the applicant:\n(1) The true and full name and Idaho residence address and mailing address, if different, of the applicant;\n(2) The identity and date of birth of the applicant pursuant to section 49-2444(6), Idaho Code, and, subject to subsection (6) of this section, other satisfactory evidence of identity acceptable to the authorized agent or the department;\n(3) The height and weight of the applicant;\n(4) The color of eyes and hair of the applicant;\n(5) The applicant’s signature; and\n(6) The applicant’s social security number as verified by the social security administration.\n(a) The requirement that an applicant provide a social security number as verified by the social security administration shall apply only to applicants who have been assigned a social security number.\n(b) An applicant who has not been assigned a social security number shall:\n(i) Present written verification from the social security administration that the applicant has not been assigned a social security number; and\n(ii) Submit a birth certificate, passport or other documentary evidence issued by an entity other than a state or the United States; and\n(iii) Submit such proof as the department may require that the applicant is lawfully present in the United States.","path":["TITLE 49 MOTOR VEHICLES","CHAPTER 24 MISCELLANEOUS"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title49/t49ch24/sect49-2443/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T11:22:31Z","sha256":"de79a5b51c2e2b57ea71c791d3741591537e9bb7604b9821b1080fa36f35625a","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-49-2442","next":"us-id/idaho-code-49-2444"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
