{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-49-317","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 49-317","heading":"Restricted driver’s licenses.","body":"(1) The department, upon issuing a driver’s license, shall have authority whenever good cause appears to impose restrictions suitable to the licensee’s driving ability with respect to:\n(a) The type of or special mechanical control devices required or not permitted on a motor vehicle which the licensee may operate;\n(b) Medical variances as determined by the federal motor carrier safety administration; or\n(c) Other restrictions applicable to the licensee as the department may determine to be appropriate to assure the safe operation of a motor vehicle by the licensee.\n(2) The department may either issue a special restricted driver’s license or may set forth restrictions upon the usual driver’s license form.\n(3) The department shall, upon receiving satisfactory evidence of any violation of the restrictions of a driver’s license, suspend the driver’s license or privileges for a period of thirty (30) days but the licensee shall be entitled to a hearing as provided in section 49-326, Idaho Code.","path":["TITLE 49 MOTOR VEHICLES","CHAPTER 3 MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER’S LICENSES"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title49/t49ch3/sect49-317/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T11:22:21Z","sha256":"43fb9d13bde0a9e851839bb49ef509acf1f0bd960dc0987c39bbf90587b56f96","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-49-316","next":"us-id/idaho-code-49-318"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
