{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-54-1733a","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 54-1733A","heading":"PRESCRIPTION DRUG ORDER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS.","body":"(1) A prescription drug order may be transmitted by delivery of the original signed written prescription or a digital image of the order, or by a prescriber, prescriber’s agent, or representative of a state-licensed or federally certified provider community either electronically, verbally, or via facsimile.\n(2) Each prescription drug order shall include at least the following:\n(a) The name of the patient or authorized entity, and, if for an animal, the species;\n(b) If a controlled substance, the patient’s address;\n(c) The date issued;\n(d) The drug name, strength, and quantity;\n(e) Directions for use;\n(f) The name of the prescriber, and, if a controlled substance, the address and DEA registration number; and\n(g) The signature of the prescriber or, if a renewal of a previous prescription, the prescriber’s authorized agent.\n(3) A provider may omit drug information and directions and, instead, make an indication for the pharmacist to finalize the patient’s drug therapy plan.","path":["TITLE 54 PROFESSIONS, VOCATIONS, AND BUSINESSES","CHAPTER 17 PHARMACISTS"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title54/t54ch17/sect54-1733a/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T13:51:49Z","sha256":"e36f56e9279516bae3342c943a383a4e817484711c46c8857d63bd67b3499e35","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-54-1733","next":"us-id/idaho-code-54-1733b"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
