{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-54-915","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 54-915","heading":"Qualifications required for dentist, dental therapist, or dental hygienist licensure.","body":"No person hereafter shall be eligible for licensure to practice dentistry, dental therapy, or dental hygiene in this state unless the applicant:\n(1) Has not been convicted, found guilty, or received a withheld judgment or a suspended sentence in this state or in any other state of a crime that is deemed relevant in accordance with section 67-9411(1), Idaho Code, unless the person demonstrates that he has been sufficiently rehabilitated to warrant the public trust;\n(2) Shall, for dentistry, have successfully completed the course of study in dentistry, and graduated and received a degree of doctor of dental surgery or doctor of dental medicine from a dental school accepted and approved by the board;\n(3) Shall, for dental therapy, have:\n(a) Successfully completed a course of study in dental therapy;\n(b) Graduated from a dental therapy school accredited by the commission on dental accreditation of the American dental association, provided that such school has been accepted and approved by the board; and\n(c) Completed five hundred (500) hours of supervised clinical practice under the direct supervision of a dentist;\n(4) Shall, for dental hygiene, have successfully completed the course of study in dental hygiene, and received a degree from a dental hygiene school accepted and approved by the board;\n(5) Shall, for dentistry, dental therapy, and dental hygiene, pass the examinations provided for in section 54-918, Idaho Code.","path":["TITLE 54 PROFESSIONS, VOCATIONS, AND BUSINESSES","CHAPTER 9 DENTISTS"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title54/t54ch9/sect54-915/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T11:22:47Z","sha256":"42465f2d10f52e755321ca582687cba393b698c590e8b868f19b4dbea34f88a7","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-54-913","next":"us-id/idaho-code-54-916"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
