{"data":{"id":"us-id/idaho-code-6-3806","jurisdiction":"us-id","citation":"Idaho Code § 6-3806","heading":"venue.","body":"(1) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, including chapter 4, title 5, Idaho Code, a civil action brought under section 6-3804, Idaho Code, may be brought in:\n(a) The county in which all or a substantial part of the events or omissions giving rise to the claim occurred;\n(b) The county of residence for any of the natural person defendants at the time the cause of action accrued;\n(c) The county of the principal office in this state of any of the defendants that is not a natural person; or\n(d) The county of residence for the claimant, if the claimant is a natural person residing in this state.\n(2) If a civil action is brought under section 6-3804, Idaho Code, in any of the venues described in subsection (1) of this section, then the action may not be transferred to a different venue without the written consent of all parties.","path":["TITLE 6 ACTIONS IN PARTICULAR CASES","CHAPTER 38 LIABILITY FOR PUBLISHERS AND DISTRIBUTORS OF MATERIAL HARMFUL TO MINORS ON THE INTERNET"],"source_url":"https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/title6/t6ch38/sect6-3806/","current_through":"2026 Legislative Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T13:25:44Z","sha256":"676805bafdacd8ab272003b7e2c7c7ce4cfbd5e4629df0a15415cb8e5922340a","source_id":"us-id","stale":false,"prev":"us-id/idaho-code-6-3805","next":"us-id/idaho-code-6-3807"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
