{"data":{"id":"us-il/10-ilcs-5-2a-31","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"10 ILCS 5/2A-31","heading":"","body":"Villages over 50,000; president; trustees; clerk; time of election.\n(a) In villages with a population of 50,000 or more, a president shall be elected at the consolidated election in 1979 or 1981 (in whichever of those years the term of the president expires) and every 4 years thereafter.\n(b) In villages with a population of 50,000 or more, 6 trustees shall be elected at the consolidated election in 1979 or 1981 (in whichever of those years the terms of the trustees expire) and every 4 years thereafter, unless the village has provided, in accordance with Section 3.1-25-15 of the Illinois Municipal Code, to elect trustees in the manner provided for villages with a population of less than 50,000, in which case trustees shall be elected at the time prescribed in Section 2A-30 of this Act.\n(c) In villages with a population of 50,000 or more, a clerk shall be elected at the consolidated election in every other odd-numbered year when the clerk is elected for a 4 year term, and in each odd-numbered year when the clerk is elected for a 2 year term.","path":["CHAPTER 10 ELECTIONS","Election Code."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=170\u0026ChapterID=3\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:12Z","sha256":"27c3efe54ac5963f09e647ef77d9473fd3e02b9a3078a01b8f746da5e5db2bdd","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/10-ilcs-5-2a-30a","next":"us-il/10-ilcs-5-2a-32"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
