{"data":{"id":"us-il/10-ilcs-5-9-3.5","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"10 ILCS 5/9-3.5","heading":"Candidate political committee restrictions.","body":"(a) A person who is nominated to an affected office shall not: (i) serve as an officer of a candidate political committee that is designated to support or oppose that person as a candidate; or (ii) be a candidate who is designated as the candidate to be supported by a candidate political committee.\n(b) Within 30 days after appointment, the person shall: (i) dissolve the candidate political committee; (ii) resign as an officer of the candidate political committee; (iii) have his or her name removed as the candidate to be supported by the candidate political committee; or (iv) notify the Board of the person's intent to convert the candidate political committee to a limited activity candidate political committee.\n(c) As used in this Section, \"affected office\" has the meaning provided in subsection (c) of Section 3A-50 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act.","path":["CHAPTER 10 ELECTIONS","Election Code."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=170\u0026ChapterID=3\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:12Z","sha256":"626228ddb3a6ac8f2c1f724b53f0054ba79cf3f39a27548b4b3351f6f777ad36","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/10-ilcs-5-9-3","next":"us-il/10-ilcs-5-9-4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
