{"data":{"id":"us-il/110-ilcs-175-100-10","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"110 ILCS 175/100-10","heading":"Definitions.","body":"In this Act:\n\"College-level English language or mathematics course\" or \"college-level English language or mathematics coursework\" means a course that bears credit and fulfills English language or mathematics credit requirements for a baccalaureate degree, a certificate, or an associate degree from a postsecondary educational institution.\n\"Community college\" means a public community college in this State.\n\"Developmental education\" means instruction through which a high school graduate who applies to a college credit program may attain the communication and computation skills necessary to successfully complete college-level coursework.\n\"Developmental education course\" or \"developmental education coursework\" means a course or a category of courses in which students are placed based on an institution's finding that a student does not have the proficiency necessary to succeed in an introductory college-level English language or mathematics course.\n\"Institution of higher education\" or \"institution\" means a public community college or university in this State.\n\"University\" means a public university in this State.","path":["CHAPTER 110 HIGHER EDUCATION","Developmental Education Reform Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=4082\u0026ChapterID=18\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:27Z","sha256":"db7cf542783f4cb11a9e36537a560a694b4a179682b4dc41286b1096532c4faf","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/110-ilcs-175-100-5","next":"us-il/110-ilcs-175-100-15"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
