{"data":{"id":"us-il/110-ilcs-972-20","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"110 ILCS 972/20","heading":"Eligibility.","body":"(a) The Commission shall, on an annual basis, receive and consider applications for grant assistance under the program. An applicant is eligible for a grant under the program if the Commission finds that the applicant:\n(1) is a United States citizen or permanent resident;\n(2) is a resident of Illinois;\n(3) is working as a physician, certified nurse practitioner, registered professional nurse, certified nursing assistant, or licensed practical nurse in a State veterans' home;\n(4) is a borrower with an outstanding balance due on an educational loan; and\n(5) has not defaulted on an educational loan.\n(b) Preference may be given to previous recipients of a grant under the program, provided that the recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements set forth in this Section.\n(c) For each year during which an individual receives a grant under this program, he or she must fulfill a separate 12-month period as a physician, certified nurse practitioner, registered professional nurse, certified nursing assistant, or licensed practical nurse in a State veterans' home.","path":["CHAPTER 110 HIGHER EDUCATION","Veterans' Home Medical Providers' Loan Repayment Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=2942\u0026ChapterID=18\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:28Z","sha256":"d3544b07f2da07bfe4ec221d29f97b459682eccca1b518ab64f5e916ac603b09","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/110-ilcs-972-15","next":"us-il/110-ilcs-972-900"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
