The Department of Public Health shall establish a system for the collection of data regarding hospital discharges and inpatient and outpatient surgery performed at hospitals and licensed ambulatory surgical treatment centers.\nThe Department may establish a system to provide data to hospitals required for accreditation, including data required by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.\nThe Department may adopt any rules necessary to carry out this function, including reasonable fees for providing accreditation data.
