{"data":{"id":"us-il/20-ilcs-2410-8","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"20 ILCS 2410/8","heading":"Department Duties.","body":"In order that the Blind Services Planning Council may function efficiently and provide a meaningful service, the Department shall:\n(a) provide adequate space for meetings in a convenient location;\n(b) provide sufficient clerical service;\n(c) provide adequate and secure storage for records;\n(d) make all records pertaining to the Bureau available to the Council except those governed by confidentiality because of their being related to a specific client;\n(e) select the Bureau Director with full consideration given to a list of candidates recommended by the Council;\n(f) submit no budget without having involved the Council and having submitted the final draft for its review;\n(g) institute no major policy or program changes affecting blind or visually impaired persons without first consulting the Council;\n(h) reimburse expenses for members of the Council for Council meetings;\n(i) reimburse Council members for actual expenses incurred in the performance of their duties;\n(j) cooperate with the Council in generating recommendations for new program initiatives;\n(k) reimburse expenses for members of sub-committees and ad hoc committees;\n(l) support the Council in a strong advocacy and outreach role;\n(m) give full faith and credit to the work and recommendations of the Council.","path":["CHAPTER 20 EXECUTIVE BRANCH","Bureau for the Blind Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=334\u0026ChapterID=5\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:15Z","sha256":"47552093157dadb162c0d3150c17f86c7f23ec4876adb4433b6e579df4e16231","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/20-ilcs-2410-7","next":"us-il/20-ilcs-2415-70"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
