{"data":{"id":"us-il/210-ilcs-165-5","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"210 ILCS 165/5","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this Act:\n\"Authorized electronic monitoring\" means the placement and use of an electronic monitoring device by a resident in his or her room in accordance with this Act.\n\"Community-integrated living arrangement\" has the meaning given to that term in Section 3 of the Community-Integrated Living Arrangements Licensure and Certification Act.\n\"Department\" means the Department of Human Services.\n\"Developmental disability facility\" means a facility or section of a facility that is licensed by, operated by, or is under contract with the State or a political subdivision of the State and that admits persons with developmental disabilities for residential services.\n\"Electronic monitoring device\" means a surveillance instrument with a fixed position video camera or an audio recording device, or a combination thereof, that is installed in a resident's room under the provisions of this Act and broadcasts or records activity or sounds occurring in the room.\n\"Resident\" means a person residing in a community-integrated living arrangement or developmental disability facility.\n\"Staff\" includes individuals providing supervisory of other services at a community-integrated living arrangement or developmental disability facility.","path":["CHAPTER 210 HEALTH FACILITIES AND REGULATION","Authorized Electronic Monitoring in Community-Integrated Living Arrangements and Developmental Disability Facilities Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=4011\u0026ChapterID=21\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:30Z","sha256":"8f7f206235eefcc5e466caaf67d8c144e6bebe26d8f60a6315be1a70db1238dd","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/210-ilcs-165-1","next":"us-il/210-ilcs-165-10"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
