{"data":{"id":"us-il/215-ilcs-93-20","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"215 ILCS 93/20","heading":"Establishment of Class of Business.","body":"(a) A small employer carrier may establish a separate class of business only to reflect substantial differences in expected claims experience or administrative costs related to the following reasons:\n(1) the small employer carrier uses more than one type of system for the marketing and sale of health benefit plans to small employers;\n(2) the small employer carrier has acquired a class of business from another small employer carrier; or\n(3) the small employer carrier provides coverage to one or more association groups.\n(b) A small employer carrier may establish up to 4 separate classes of business under subsection (a).\n(c) The Director may approve the establishment of additional classes of business upon application to the Director and a finding by the Director that such action would enhance the efficiency and fairness of the small employer marketplace.","path":["CHAPTER 215 INSURANCE","Small Employer Health Insurance Rating Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=1250\u0026ChapterID=22\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:30Z","sha256":"329069babb4fde0033f5158b04cde9d1651ce44f782b161a515dfcb1f70b639d","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/215-ilcs-93-15","next":"us-il/215-ilcs-93-25"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
