{"data":{"id":"us-il/225-ilcs-95-17","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"225 ILCS 95/17","heading":"Inactive status.","body":"(Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2028)\nAny physician assistant who notified the Department in writing on forms prescribed by the Department, may elect to place his or her license on an inactive status and shall, subject to rules of the Department, be excused from payment of renewal fees until he or she notifies the Department in writing of his or her intention to restore the license.\nAny physician assistant requesting restoration from inactive status shall be required to pay the current renewal fee and shall be required to restore his or her license, as provided in Section 16 of this Act.\nAny physician assistant whose license is in an inactive status shall not practice in the State of Illinois.\nAny licensee who shall engage in practice while his or her license is lapsed or on inactive status shall be considered to be practicing without a license, which shall be grounds for discipline under Section 21 of this Act.","path":["CHAPTER 225 PROFESSIONS, OCCUPATIONS, AND BUSINESS OPERATIONS","Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=1320\u0026ChapterID=24\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:31Z","sha256":"19905c3b656f934a789959a7b3511a57b47d934afd1c65536d22f2c994bbc306","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/225-ilcs-95-16","next":"us-il/225-ilcs-95-18"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
