{"data":{"id":"us-il/230-ilcs-45-25-120.5","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"230 ILCS 45/25-120.5","heading":"Duties of licensees.","body":"(a) Licensees shall comply with all applicable anti-money laundering standards.\n(b) Licensees have an affirmative duty to prevent underage participation in fantasy contents. Licensees shall establish technical and operational measures to prevent underage participation in a fantasy contest.\n(c) Licensees shall implement identity verification procedures, consistent with modern best practices, to verify an individual's personally identifiable information and can detect potential prohibited participants.\n(d) Licensees shall employ mechanisms on the operator's platform that are designed to detect and prevent unauthorized accounts and to detect and prevent fraud, money laundering, and collusion.\n(e) Licensees shall implement geolocation technology to verify that a participant is not accessing the platform from a restricted jurisdiction.\n(f) Licensees shall make all reasonable efforts to promptly notify the Board of any information relating to:\n(1) a confirmed breach of the relevant sport's governing body's internal rules and codes of conduct pertaining to participation in real-money fantasy contests;\n(2) any conduct that corrupts any outcome related to a sports event or sports events for purposes of financial gain, including match fixing; and\n(3) suspected illegal activities, including use of funds derived from illegal activity, entries to conceal or launder funds derived from illegal activity, multi-accounting, and using false identification.","path":["CHAPTER 230 GAMING","Sports Wagering Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=3996\u0026ChapterID=25\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:32Z","sha256":"597ac79abc179f89a00582f8bc2b940dc673e55d71b35c4ebe4ede2492fa5890","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/230-ilcs-45-25-120.4","next":"us-il/230-ilcs-45-25-120.6"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
