{"data":{"id":"us-il/410-ilcs-50-7.5","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"410 ILCS 50/7.5","heading":"Notifications; minor patients.","body":"(This Section may contain text from a Public Act with a delayed effective date)\n(a) When a minor patient is brought to a health care facility for evaluation, treatment, or care, the health care facility shall provide a parent or guardian who is accompanying such minor patient with a copy of the informational document prepared by the Department of Children and Family Services in accordance with Section 11.10 of the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act, in addition to any statement required under Section 5 of this Act if applicable. The document shall be provided digitally by email or text at an email or cellular number provided by the parent or guardian and shall be provided in the parent or guardian's primary language, if available. If the document cannot be shared via email or text, the health care facility shall provide a printed copy to the parent or guardian who is accompanying the minor patient.\n(b) Any physician, medical student, resident, advanced practice registered nurse, registered nurse, physician assistant, or social worker who examines, treats, or provides care to a minor patient that a parent or guardian has consented to on behalf of the minor patient, or who discusses a minor patient or a minor patient's injury, condition, or treatment with a parent or guardian consenting to care on behalf of the minor patient shall inform the parent or guardian who has consented to care on behalf of that minor patient of the professional's name, profession, specialty, and subspecialty, if any, and the professional's role in the overall care of the minor patient.\n(c) Nothing in this Section shall be interpreted or construed to diminish a minor patient's authority to consent to medical examination, treatment, or care otherwise provided under State law, or the privacy and confidentiality protections afforded by State or federal law to a minor patient who consents to medical examination, treatment, or care.","path":["CHAPTER 410 PUBLIC HEALTH","Medical Patient Rights Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=1525\u0026ChapterID=35\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:35Z","sha256":"be0c5b9930f1937c9444fc6dffa870167e9516e7ccaa6d4a687b1fc238532bb2","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/410-ilcs-50-7","next":"us-il/410-ilcs-50-10"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
