{"data":{"id":"us-il/415-ilcs-157-20","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"415 ILCS 157/20","heading":"Appointments; members.","body":"(a) Members of the Oversight Committee shall be appointed according to subsections (d) and (e) no later than 60 days after the effective date of this Act. If a vacancy occurs within the Oversight Committee, the vacancy shall be filled in a manner consistent with subsections (d) and (e).\n(b) At the discretion of both of the Co-Chairpersons, additional individuals may participate as nonvoting members of the Oversight Committee.\n(c) With the approval of both of the Co-Chairpersons, additional individuals may be appointed as voting members of the Oversight Committee.\n(d) The Oversight Committee shall consist of the following voting members:\n(1) four members appointed as follows and who represent, when possible, disadvantaged communities:\n(A) one member appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, who shall serve as Co-Chairperson;\n(B) one member appointed by the President of the Senate, who shall serve as Co-Chairperson;\n(C) one member appointed by the Minority Leader of the Senate;\n(D) one member appointed by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives;\n(2) the Director of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency or his or her designee;\n(3) the Director of Public Health or his or her designee;\n(4) the Secretary of Human Services or his or her designee; and\n(5) the Secretary of Transportation or his or her designee.\n(e) The Oversight Committee may, at the discretion of the Oversight Committee, consist of the following nonvoting members:\n(1) two representatives from labor organizations;\n(2) two representatives from a statewide organization representing manufacturers;\n(3) two representatives from faith-based organizations;\n(4) two representatives from environmental justice organizations;\n(5) two representatives from community-based organizations that work to facilitate affordable housing, transportation, or other essential services;\n(6) two residents of disadvantaged communities; and\n(7) a person nominated by a federal agency.","path":["CHAPTER 415 ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY","Justice40 Oversight Committee Act"],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=4429\u0026ChapterID=36\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:36Z","sha256":"bb00b2396cd7bd50636a3e947e06cab846943429874991ccb962962932865770","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/415-ilcs-157-15","next":"us-il/415-ilcs-157-99"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
