{"data":{"id":"us-il/625-ilcs-5-6-106.4","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"625 ILCS 5/6-106.4","heading":"For-profit ridesharing arrangement - driver.","body":"No person may drive a commuter van while it is being used for a for-profit ridesharing arrangement unless such person:\n(1) is 21 years of age or older;\n(2) has a valid and properly classified driver's license issued by the Secretary of State;\n(3) has held a valid driver's license, not necessarily of the same classification, for 3 years prior to the date of application. A lapse in the renewal of the driver's license of 30 days or less shall not render the applicant ineligible. The Secretary of State may, in his or her discretion, grant a waiver for a lapse in the renewal of the driver's license in excess of 30 days;\n(4) has demonstrated his ability to exercise reasonable care in the safe operation of commuter vans used in for-profit ridesharing arrangements in accordance with such standards as the Secretary of State may prescribe, which standards may require a driving test in a commuter van; and\n(5) has not been convicted of any of the following offenses within 3 years of the date of application: Sections 11-401 (leaving the scene of a traffic crash involving death or personal injury), 11-501 (driving under the influence), 11-503 (reckless driving), 11-504 (drag racing), and 11-506 (street racing) of this Code, or Sections 9-3 (manslaughter or reckless homicide) and 12-5 (reckless conduct arising from the use of a motor vehicle) of the Criminal Code of 1961 or the Criminal Code of 2012.","path":["CHAPTER 625 VEHICLES","Illinois Vehicle Code."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=1815\u0026ChapterID=49\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:40Z","sha256":"161698ed91b36f45d0c820ece2346abcb9177cb81e84c2ec2b1955ac37b0481e","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/625-ilcs-5-6-106.3","next":"us-il/625-ilcs-5-6-106.11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
