{"data":{"id":"us-il/65-ilcs-5-11-15.5-25","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"65 ILCS 5/11-15.5-25","heading":"Applicability.","body":"(a) As used in this Section, \"shared roof\" means any roof that (i) serves more than one unit, including, but not limited to, a contiguous roof serving adjacent units, or (ii) is part of the common elements or common area of a unit.\n(b) This Division shall not apply to any building that:\n(1) is greater than 60 feet in height; or\n(2) has a shared roof.\n(c) Notwithstanding subsection (b) of this Section, this Division shall apply to any building with a shared roof:\n(1) where the solar energy system is located entirely within that portion of the shared roof owned and maintained by the property owner;\n(2) where all property owners sharing the shared roof are in agreement to install a solar energy system; or\n(3) to the extent this Division applies to low-voltage solar-powered devices.","path":["CHAPTER 65 MUNICIPALITIES","Illinois Municipal Code."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=802\u0026ChapterID=14\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:23Z","sha256":"b77049dcb17f4d1294701009cff96ca6daa0a11696d66becbfa8d5242cefa40c","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/65-ilcs-5-11-15.5-20","next":"us-il/65-ilcs-5-11-16-1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
