{"data":{"id":"us-il/70-ilcs-405-26b.1","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"70 ILCS 405/26b.1","heading":"Petition.","body":"When a majority of the land owners in a proposed sub-district who also own a majority of the land in such sub-district desire that a sub-district be organized they shall file a petition with the directors of the district. The area included in the petition need not be contiguous but shall serve compatible purposes. The petition shall contain a legal description of the lands proposed to be included, a brief statement of the reasons for requesting organization of the sub-district and a request that the proposed area be organized as a sub-district. The petition must be signed by a majority of those owning land in the proposed area who also own a majority of such land.
