{"data":{"id":"us-il/750-ilcs-22-211","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"750 ILCS 22/211","heading":"","body":"Continuing, exclusive jurisdiction to modify spousal-support order.\n(a) A tribunal of this State issuing a spousal-support order consistent with the law of this State has continuing, exclusive jurisdiction to modify the spousal-support order throughout the existence of the support obligation.\n(b) A tribunal of this State may not modify a spousal-support order issued by a tribunal of another state or a foreign country having continuing, exclusive jurisdiction over that order under the law of that state or foreign country.\n(c) A tribunal of this State that has continuing, exclusive jurisdiction over a spousal-support order may serve as:\n(1) an initiating tribunal to request a tribunal of another state to enforce the spousal-support order issued in this State; or\n(2) a responding tribunal to enforce or modify its own spousal-support order.","path":["CHAPTER 750 FAMILIES","Uniform Interstate Family Support Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=2091\u0026ChapterID=59\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:44Z","sha256":"808924df72560ec52cd7a4a7d1731069b3855b9836ac8295e75ea8269c9e8d98","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/750-ilcs-22-210","next":"us-il/750-ilcs-22-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
