{"data":{"id":"us-il/750-ilcs-22-710","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"750 ILCS 22/710","heading":"Foreign support agreement.","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in subsections (c) and (d), a tribunal of this State shall recognize and enforce a foreign support agreement registered in this State.\n(b) An application or direct request for recognition and enforcement of a foreign support agreement must be accompanied by:\n(1) a complete text of the foreign support agreement; and\n(2) a record stating that the foreign support agreement is enforceable as an order of support in the issuing country.\n(c) A tribunal of this State may vacate the registration of a foreign support agreement only if, acting on its own motion, the tribunal finds that recognition and enforcement would be manifestly incompatible with public policy.\n(d) In a contest of a foreign support agreement, a tribunal of this State may refuse recognition and enforcement of the agreement if it finds:\n(1) recognition and enforcement of the agreement is manifestly incompatible with public policy;\n(2) the agreement was obtained by fraud or falsification;\n(3) the agreement is incompatible with a support order involving the same parties and having the same purpose in this State, another state, or a foreign country if the support order is entitled to recognition and enforcement under this Act in this State; or\n(4) the record submitted under subsection (b) lacks authenticity or integrity.\n(e) A proceeding for recognition and enforcement of a foreign support agreement must be suspended during the pendency of a challenge to or appeal of the agreement before a tribunal of another state or a foreign country.","path":["CHAPTER 750 FAMILIES","Uniform Interstate Family Support Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=2091\u0026ChapterID=59\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:44Z","sha256":"9ff826caf70b4f62482401baeaa007e6ea625d7ae36d502984a80f33206f2169","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/750-ilcs-22-709","next":"us-il/750-ilcs-22-711"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
