{"data":{"id":"us-il/750-ilcs-46-305","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"750 ILCS 46/305","heading":"Effect of voluntary acknowledgment or denial of parentage.","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in Sections 307 and 308 of this Act, a valid voluntary acknowledgment filed with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, as provided by law, is equivalent to an adjudication of the parentage of a child and confers upon the acknowledged parent all of the rights and duties of a parent.\n(b) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, parentage established in accordance with Section 301 of this Act has the full force and effect of a judgment entered under this Act and serves as a basis for seeking a child support order without any further proceedings to establish parentage.\n(c) Except as otherwise provided in Sections 307 and 308 of this Act, a valid denial by a presumed parent filed with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, as provided by law, in conjunction with a voluntary acknowledgment, is equivalent to an adjudication of the nonparentage of the presumed parent and discharges the presumed parent from all rights and duties of a parent.","path":["CHAPTER 750 FAMILIES","Illinois Parentage Act of 2015."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=3638\u0026ChapterID=59\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:44Z","sha256":"15d70339d05addb475a784b13c241a0567c3d526489bb30f897e1fd413d552a9","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/750-ilcs-46-304","next":"us-il/750-ilcs-46-306"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
