{"data":{"id":"us-il/750-ilcs-46-408","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"750 ILCS 46/408","heading":"Additional persons to be tested.","body":"(a) Subject to subsection (b), if a genetic-testing specimen is not available from a person who may be the parent of a child, for good cause and under circumstances the court considers to be just, the court may order the following individuals to submit specimens for genetic testing:\n(1) the parents of the person;\n(2) brothers and sisters of the person;\n(3) other children of the person and the woman or person who gave birth to the person; and\n(4) other relatives of the person necessary to complete genetic testing.\n(b) Issuance of an order under this Section requires a finding that a need for genetic testing outweighs the legitimate interests of the individual sought to be tested, and in no event shall an order be issued until the individual is joined as a party and given notice as required under the Code of Civil Procedure.","path":["CHAPTER 750 FAMILIES","Illinois Parentage Act of 2015."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=3638\u0026ChapterID=59\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:44Z","sha256":"64e6a175c94540456983128dc3de3ef8b27149781d76455b20dc9effee7dba8d","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/750-ilcs-46-407","next":"us-il/750-ilcs-46-501"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
