{"data":{"id":"us-il/765-ilcs-1026-15-206","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"765 ILCS 1026/15-206","heading":"When stored-value card presumed abandoned.","body":"(a) Subject to Section 15-210, the net card value of a stored-value card is presumed abandoned on the latest of 5 years after:\n(1) December 31 of the year in which the card is issued or additional funds are deposited into it;\n(2) the most recent indication of interest in the card by the apparent owner; or\n(3) a verification or review of the balance by or on behalf of the apparent owner.\n(b) The amount presumed abandoned in a stored-value card is the net card value at the time it is presumed abandoned.\n(c) However, if a holder has reported and remitted to the administrator the net card value on a stored-value card presumed abandoned under this Section and the stored-value card does not have an expiration date, then the holder must honor the card on presentation indefinitely and may then request reimbursement from the administrator under Section 605.","path":["CHAPTER 765 PROPERTY","Revised Uniform Unclaimed Property Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=3794\u0026ChapterID=62\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:46Z","sha256":"6642cfb9d0c6787b7034513458ec9ad53b4b611dc64989683313b5351f9e8da4","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/765-ilcs-1026-15-205","next":"us-il/765-ilcs-1026-15-208"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
