{"data":{"id":"us-il/765-ilcs-1026-15-401","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"765 ILCS 1026/15-401","heading":"Report required by holder.","body":"(a) A holder of property presumed abandoned and subject to the custody of the administrator shall report in a record to the administrator concerning the property. A holder shall report via the internet in a format approved by the administrator, unless the administrator gives a holder specific permission to file a paper report.\n(b) A holder may contract with a third party to make the report required under subsection (a).\n(c) Whether or not a holder contracts with a third party under subsection (b), the holder is responsible:\n(1) to the administrator for the complete, accurate, and timely reporting of property presumed abandoned; and\n(2) for paying or delivering to the administrator property described in the report.\n(d) A business association who has no reportable property shall so report to the administrator on forms via the Internet in a format approved by the administrator if the business association has:\n(1) annual sales of more than $1,000,000;\n(2) securities that are publicly traded;\n(3) a net worth of more than $10,000,000; or\n(4) more than 100 employees.\nThe administrator may increase one or more of the thresholds for filing a negative report by administrative rule.","path":["CHAPTER 765 PROPERTY","Revised Uniform Unclaimed Property Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=3794\u0026ChapterID=62\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:46Z","sha256":"e20084a03e60e5c95dbee4c191e6938f28e0adc816785a7062b18724c6f30932","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/765-ilcs-1026-15-307","next":"us-il/765-ilcs-1026-15-402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
