{"data":{"id":"us-il/775-ilcs-5-3-102.10","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"775 ILCS 5/3-102.10","heading":"Third-party loan modification service provider.","body":"(A) It is a civil rights violation for a third-party loan modification service provider, because of unlawful discrimination, familial status, immigration status, source of income, or an arrest record, to:\n(1) refuse to engage in loan modification services;\n(2) alter the terms, conditions, or privileges of such services; or\n(3) discriminate in making such services available, including, but not limited to, by making a statement, advertisement, representation, inquiry, listing, offer, or solicitation that indicates a preference or the intention to make such a preference in making such services available.\n(B) For purposes of this Section, \"third-party loan modification service provider\" means a person or entity, whether licensed or not, who, for or with the expectation of receiving consideration, provides assistance or services to a loan borrower to obtain a modification to a term of an existing real estate loan or to obtain foreclosure relief. \"Third-party loan modification service provider\" does not include lenders, brokers or appraisers of mortgage loans, or the servicers, subsidiaries, affiliates, or agents of the lender.","path":["CHAPTER 775 HUMAN RIGHTS","Illinois Human Rights Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=2266\u0026ChapterID=64\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:46Z","sha256":"16f657d00adec3b34f332e1612e4bd562aa106f1f58278073ae818746b05bdc4","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/775-ilcs-5-3-102.5","next":"us-il/775-ilcs-5-3-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
