{"data":{"id":"us-il/815-ilcs-124-39","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"815 ILCS 124/39","heading":"Safe harbor.","body":"A person that (i) was providing buy-now-pay-later loans in this State before January 1, 2028 and (ii) submits an application for a license on or before January 1, 2028 shall be deemed a provisional licensee authorized to continue operating under this Act until the Department acts on the application. In addition to any other grounds for denying an application under this Act, the Department may deny such an application if it finds that the applicant's reputation does not warrant the belief that the business will be operated honestly and fairly within the purposes of this Act and that the applicant does not meet the positive net worth requirement.
