{"data":{"id":"us-il/815-ilcs-672-15","jurisdiction":"us-il","citation":"815 ILCS 672/15","heading":"Violations; civil penalties.","body":"(a) Any person who violates, or causes another person to violate, a provision of this Act shall be subject to a civil penalty of up to $1,000 for each violation. Each day that a third-party restaurant reservation service violates this Act with respect to a food service establishment constitutes a single violation of this Act. A proceeding to recover any civil penalty or restitution under this Act may be brought by the Attorney General.\n(b) Any person charged fees by a third-party restaurant reservation service that with respect to a reservation listed, advertised, promoted, or sold in violation of this Act, or food service establishment which a third-party restaurant reservation service listed, advertised, promoted, or sold a reservation in violation of this Act, may bring a civil action in circuit court for:\n(1) injunctive relief to restrain or enjoin any activity in violation of this Act;\n(2) actual damages not to exceed the total fees collected by the third-party restaurant reservation service in violation of this Act;\n(3) attorney's fees and costs; and\n(4) other remedies as the court may deem appropriate.\n(c) Any action alleging a violation of this Act shall be brought within one year after the alleged violation of this Act occurred.","path":["CHAPTER 815 BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS","Restaurant Reservation Anti-Piracy Act."],"source_url":"https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ILCS/details?ActID=4620\u0026ChapterID=67\u0026ChapAct=FullText\u0026Print=True","current_through":"at least Public Act 104-790","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-15T04:46:48Z","sha256":"4b65d75b99b48087d33aab3760abad0288e719e56c629d06fa11153b727fcf25","source_id":"us-il","stale":false,"prev":"us-il/815-ilcs-672-10","next":"us-il/815-ilcs-675-1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
