(a) As used in this chapter, \"company\" means any of the following that exists to make a profit:\n(1) A sole proprietorship.\n(2) An organization.\n(3) An association.\n(4) A corporation.\n(5) A partnership.\n(6) A joint venture.\n(7) A limited partnership.\n(8) A limited liability partnership.\n(9) A limited liability company.\n(10) A business association.\n(b) The term includes:\n(1) a wholly owned subsidiary;\n(2) a majority owned subsidiary;\n(3) a parent company; or\n(4) an affiliate;\nof an individual, entity, or association described in subsection (a)(1) through (a)(10).","path":["TITLE 1.
