As used in this chapter, \"law enforcement officer\" means any of the following:\n(1) A state police officer.\n(2) A county sheriff.\n(3) A county police officer.\n(4) A correctional officer.\n(5) An excise police officer.\n(6) A county police reserve officer.\n(7) A city police officer.\n(8) A city police reserve officer.\n(9) A conservation enforcement officer.\n(10) A town marshal.\n(11) A deputy town marshal.\n(12) A probation officer.\n(13) A state educational institution police officer appointed under IC 21-39-4.\n(14) A gaming agent of the Indiana gaming commission.\n(15) A person employed by a political subdivision (as defined in IC 36-1-2-13) and appointed as a special deputy under IC 36-8-10-10.6.\n(16) A school corporation police officer appointed under IC 20-26-16.\n(17) A police officer of a public or private postsecondary educational institution whose board of trustees has established a police department under IC 21-17-5-2 or IC 21-39-4-2.\n(18) A tribal police officer.\n(19) A hospital police officer employed by a hospital police department established under IC 16-18-4.\n(20) A conservancy district marshal.\n(21) A deputy conservancy district marshal.\n(22) A member in the military police force of the Indiana National Guard while exercising police powers in accordance with IC 10-16-23-3.","path":["TITLE 10.
